Corinth – one of the most powerful, and perhaps the most strategically placed, city-states of Ancient Greece lies on the shores of the Gulf of Corinth at the isthmus that was the axis of both north/south, and east/west trade through much of the development and blossoming of Ancient Greece. It isn’t surprising that one of the most famed coins of the ancient world, the Silver Pegasus Stater, became a valued trade coin used by both Corinthians and their colonies and trade partners throughout the region.

She is the divine counselor to most of the Greek heroes, and is often associated with the arts as well as the disciplined, strategic elements of warfare.
