Tiny Anchor - the Mariner's Cross Wax Seal Pendant | Seal Date & Origin: 1800s, England

Size Guide

I sometimes wonder about the woman who once used this seal...

The tiny seal used to make this pendant is a lady's desk seal that would have been used to seal personal letters. It features the anchor, the universal symbol of hope, leaning against a rock. I wonder if it belonged to a sailor's wife almost 200 years ago. If so, it would make sense... it was a dangerous profession then, as now, and a symbol of hope and faith would have brought comfort during long month's of separation. It is a gentle testament to hope, stability and strength.

Your Tiny Anchor Mariner's Cross Seal:

  • Metal: .999 Fine Silver
  • Sealing Device Date: 1800s
  • Sealing Device Origin: England
  • Special Note: One of my favorite seals, it is at the end of a spring-loaded cartridge that holds a metal toothpick. Hand-carved into clear quartz, the image is a one-of-a-kind hand-made work of art. The cartridge is of gleaming silver - a pretty tool for the woman who would have used it!
