Roman Republic Silver Denarius circa 115 BC Necklace with Roma & Jupiter

Please Note: This is an authentic Ancient Roman Treasure Coin, and you will receive the exact pendant in the photographs and description.

Before the Roman Empire, there was the Roman Republic… where ancient Rome was ruled by the powerful Senate and moneyers were responsible for creating the coins used by the citizens of this rising power.

This silver coin, a Denaruis, was minted by moneyer Domitius Ahenobarbus between 116 - 115 BC at the Rome Mint. It pictures the helmeted Roma on the front (obverse). Roma was the personification – the representation of the city of Rome, where this coin was minted. On the back (reverse) is Jupiter, the god of sky and thunder - the master god, driving a quadriga (a chariot pulled by four horses).

Our ancient coin pendants are a favorite of history fans, students, travel buffs and teachers… and anyone with a love of the past. Our Roman jewelry is designed to be worn by men or women will accommodate both large and small chain and leather necklaces.

Note from Robert: This coin is in virtually un-ciriculated condition - extremely rare. That is why I bezeled it in 18kt gold. Most of the ancient jewelry and money back at this time was 22kt or 24kt gold. And 18kt gives that beautiful high purity warm gold glow, but is still perfect and sturdy to be worn daily.

Each ancient Roman coin was hand-struck by three people, and at the height of the Roman empire, coins were minted throughout the sprawling territories – even in military camps where coins were minted to pay soldiers. Lost or purposely hoarded, this ancient Roman Coin was discovered by metal detector and professionally conserved for a lifetime of enjoyment.
