Roman Republic Silver Denarius 134 BC Necklace with Roma, & the Lost Columna Minucia

Please Note: This is an authentic Ancient Roman Treasure Coin, and you will receive the exact pendant in the photographs and description.

Before the Roman Empire, there was the Roman Republic… where ancient Rome was ruled by the powerful Senate and moneyers were responsible for creating the coins used by the citizens of this rising power.

This silver coin, a Denaruis, was minted by moneyer C. Augurinus in 134 BC in Rome. It pictures the helmeted Roma on the front (obverse). Roma was the personification – the representation of the city of Rome, where this coin was minted. On the back (reverse) is the famed lost ionic column Columna Minucia. This column, now lost to time, was erected in 439 BC in Rome. It was constructed to honor L. Minucius Augurinus who was counsel in 497 and 491 BC. He is famed for his successful management of Rome during the famine of 490 BC, thus the grain stalks that surround the column on this denarius.

Our ancient coin pendants are a favorite of history fans, students, travel buffs and teachers… and anyone with a love of the past. Our Roman jewelry is designed to be worn by men or women will accommodate both large and small chain and leather necklaces.
