Robert's Notes: Perfect pendant size. This cob coin is in such amazing condition that I mounted it in regal 14kt gold. Most Spanish reale cobs date to the 1600s and later. This one dates to about 1607, which makes it highly desirable. This is the same era coin that would have been recovered from the Atocha that sank off Key West in 1622. Stunning condition for its age with a highly desirable cross and great shield detail. Virtually uncirculated! Very nice "oM" Mexico City mint mark, and "F" assayer's initials, and clear "Z" for denomination 2 reales. Only about 7% of the Mexico City mint coins were 2 reales at this time. 75% were the large Eight Reales.
