Before the Roman Empire, there was the Roman Republic… where ancient Rome was ruled by the powerful Senate and moneyers were responsible for creating the coins used by the citizens of this rising power.

This silver coin, a Denaruis Serratus, was minted by moneyer Q Antonius Balbus between 83 – 82 BC. It pictures a laureate head of Jupiter on the front (obverse). Jupiter (Zeus in Greek mythology, Jupiter was king of the gods, and god of the sky and thunder). On the back (reverse) is Victory, the goddess of victory in battle and over death, driving a quadriga (a chariot pulled by four horses).

Our ancient coin pendants are a favorite of history fans, students, travel buffs and teachers… and anyone with a love of the past. Our Roman jewelry is designed to be worn by men or women will accommodate both large and small chain and leather necklaces.
